You can use Permutis for free with the Free plan. You can post as many offers and receive as many swap requests as you like. Up to three 1:1 swap requests sent by you can be open at the same time. For example, you can offer several books and a camera even if you initially send requests for only three other offers. Optional Permutis subscriptions and extras provide additional features. No money changes hands between swap partners. Create your free account and post your first offer. You can explore additional features in the plan overview later.

On Permutis, you can swap items and services, including one for the other. Perhaps you would like to swap books for plants. Or you offer tutoring and are looking for someone to help repair your bike. Swapping an item for a service is also possible if it works for both of you. For an item, describe its condition. For a service, explain exactly what you offer. Then add what you are looking for in return. This helps others decide whether they would like to suggest a suitable swap.

A swap on Permutis starts when you are interested in each other's offers. If both sides show interest and each has at least one active offer, a match is created and you can chat. For example, you might be interested in a plant while the other person could use one of your books. A match initially means that you can talk to each other. You decide together whether to go ahead with the swap. Open the chat, ask your questions about the offer and discuss how you would like to carry out the swap.

Yes. To show interest in an offer on Permutis, you need at least one active offer of your own. Other people should be able to see what you are offering in return. For example, you could list a camera you no longer use or offer help with gardening. You can then look for suitable items and services. If you would like to get a feel for Permutis first, you can browse the offers before doing so. Then think about what you would like to offer and describe it in your own words.

Swap things and skills. Earn credits for extra benefits. Buying credits is optional: no purchase is needed to take part. No balance cap: if you have 200 credits and receive 50 in a real swap, you then have 250. Credits are points within Permutis that you can use for certain platform features. If you are interested in an offer, you can also choose to add Credits to a swap. For example, you want to swap a book for a plant and decide for yourself whether to offer Credits as well. The item or service remains part of the swap. Nobody may demand Credits or make a swap conditional on them. You therefore do not need to plan for a bonus. Start by looking at the offer and discussing which items or services you would like to swap.

You can use Permutis directly in your browser without installing an app. The Permutis Android app is also available on Google Play. The iOS app is not available yet; on an iPhone, you can open the website in your browser. If you would like to have a look around on your computer first, start with the offer overview. You can register afterwards to post offers and send swap requests. Choose whichever is convenient for you: the website or the Android app.

In Permutis chat, you discuss exactly what you want to swap and how the handover or service will work. For a bike, for example, you can ask about its condition, missing parts or the right size. For gardening help, the scope of the work and the date matter. Clear up any questions before agreeing on a meeting place or another way to carry out the swap. A match alone does not confirm a completed swap. Once you have swapped, confirm completion on Permutis. You can then review your experience and help others make their own assessment.
